New Mercies

This one started with the smallest pieces on my cutting table, the bits most people would sweep into the trash, and it turned into one of the happiest bags I've made. Rust, tangerine and cornflower blue layered with raw edges, loose threads and free-motion stitching, then pulled together with a band of cream woven trim across the front.

I named it New Mercies because it looks like morning to me. "His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning" (Lamentations 3:22-23). Every scrap in it got a second chance, and that's the whole reason iam a remnant exists.
